U.S. Embassy Kuala Lumpur Provides Scholarships for Malaysian Teachers

U.S. Embassy Kuala Lumpur, through the Regional English Language Office in Bangkok, co-sponsored the International English language teaching conference (iELT-Con 2019) organized by the Penang English Language Learning & Teaching Association (PELLTA). The 3-day conference was held in Georgetown, Penang from April 17-19, 2019. Officiated by the Chief Minister of Penang, more than 150 local and international English language professionals attended and presented at the conference including the embassy’s English Language Fellow, Rose Graves, English Language Specialist, Kelley Calvert, and alumni of the embassy’s various exchange programs such as the E-Teacher program, International Leaders in Education Program (ILEP) and the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI). The U.S. Embassy Kuala Lumpur also opened an informational booth to provide English teaching resources and promote various English and exchange programs to the participants.
