Countering Wildlife Trafficking in Laos and Malaysia

1,000,000 USD has been allocated to the Malaysia component of this grant.
The closing date for applications is April 8, 2019. 

Under the project objectives, proposals for Malaysia should include activities for at least one of the following:

  • Build the capacity of border and customs officials to identify vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate corruption related to wildlife trafficking.
  • Provide training to improve law enforcement’s ability to conduct advanced investigations related to wildlife trafficking.
  • Support training and targeted assistance to law enforcement, customs and border control officials, and wildlife authorities in Sabah to combat wildlife trafficking.

Combat Wildlife Trafficking in Southeast Asia

NOFO Opportunity # SFOP0005550

2,000,000 USD for regional programs in South East Asia. For the purposes of this grant, Southeast Asia includes the following countries: Burma/Myanmar, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. Proposed programs must benefit at least four of the countries listed above.
The closing date for applications is April 30, 2019.

Under the project objectives, proposals should include activities for at least one of the following:

  • Increase interdiction of illicit wildlife trade in Southeast Asia.
  • Build investigative and enforcement functions in Southeast Asia to CWT.
  • Enhance prosecutorial and judicial capacity in Southeast Asia to CWT.
  • Develop cross-border regional cooperation in Southeast Asia to CWT.
