On August 17th, the U.S. Embassy in Kuala Lumpur announced its partnership with the Academy of Sciences Malaysia to provide an opportunity for one of the finalist teams of the 2018 National Science Challenge to travel to Silicon Valley. For the first time in the history of the competition, one lucky student team will be sent to California to visit world-leading companies and educational institutions. The visit will showcase STEM education and, hopefully, broaden their career pathways.
“Silicon Valley is the birthplace of some of the most amazing technology companies on the planet,” said U.S. Ambassador to Malaysia Kamala Shirin Lakhdhir. “I am so excited for these students to meet with and be inspired by American scientists, educators and leaders from academic institutions and businesses in California.”
