Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) Edgard Kagan attended the official ceremony launching the new Fulbright-MCMC Grant at the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).  DCM Kagan witnessed the exchange of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Chairman of MCMC, Datuk Seri Dr. Halim Shafie, and Dr. Jim Coffman, the Executive Director of the Malaysian-American Commission on Educational Exchange (MACEE).  The new agreement provides up to RM 5 million over the next five years to fund graduate scholarships, research and exchanges for both Malaysian and American students and experts in the fields of Communications and Multimedia.  Kagan praised the initiative, noting that such exchanges are essential to improving the long-term relationship between Malaysia and the United States, and that the grants will benefit both sides.  Prior to the MOU exchange, MCMC hosted an information session and presentations by current and former Fulbright researchers, industry leaders, and other academics on various issues related to communications and digital media.  For more information on the new grant opportunities, please visit
