Rekha Pai Kamath, who sits on the board of Fast Forward, an Accelerator for Tech Non-profits based in San Francisco, and an angel investor at Stanford Angels and Entrepreneurs, engaged and awed young Malaysian entrepreneurs. Rekha is a professional mentor and Impact Advisor and has been on the selection committee for the past five years for Techwomen (www.techwomen.org), a US Department of State Initiative that seeks to connect global women leaders in technology with those in Silicon Valley.

U.S. Speaker Rekha Pai giving pointers to students at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sejahtera on completing a circuit!

She visited Malaysia from July 10 to 22 engaging and empowering women entrepreneurs, sharing her knowledge on how best to work within the existing entrepreneurial ecosystem, and she advocated for stronger participation of women in STEM and the tech world. Across the seven cities that she visited she spoke to an estimated 700 Malaysians. The talks and workshops in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Kedah, Penang, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak invited university and high school audiences to actively take part in Maker Meets and Young Innovate/inventor programs. Rekha was also a hit at the American Corners where post programmed her to provide an overview on why Silicon Valley is a success story.
