Special Advisor for Global Youth Issues Visits Malaysia

U.S. Department of State Special Advisor for Global Youth Issues Andy Rabens visited Kuala Lumpur on December 5 to meet with government and civil society representatives and discuss youth engagement in the United States and Malaysia. During his visit, Special Advisor Rabens met with Minister for Youth and Sports Khairy Jamaluddin in Putrajaya to exchange ideas on youth programs and future collaboration. He also visited MaGIC (Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre) in Cyberjaya to learn how this state-of-the-art facility is helping Malaysian entrepreneurs develop software and applications for tomorrow’s technology. While in KL, Special Advisor Rabens also met with young Malaysia civil society activists who are making a difference in their communities.

Special Advisor Rabens serves as the principal representative on youth issues for the U.S. Department of State and leads efforts to coordinate and amplify global youth policy and initiatives. He focuses on helping the U.S. Government better engage young people internationally to help solve the pressing challenges of today while also building greater global connectivity and networks.
