Services

The Office of Agricultural Affairs’ market promotion activities in Malaysia are focused on trade servicing and trade development. We offer a variety of services to U.S. producers, exporters and traders of food and agriculture products as well as to Malaysian importers and traders of those products. The following are some of the marketing activities carry out by the Office of Agricultural Affairs (OAA) and Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS).

Supplier Credit Guarantee Program

FAS offers a Export Credit Guarantee Program for Southeast Asia. The SCGP helps exporters offer competitive, open-account financing to foreign buyers of U.S. foods and agricultural products.

Buyers Missions to the United States

OAA coordinates Buyers Missions to U.S. to attend food shows and arranges field trips to visit U.S. exporters. The aim is to introduce high quality U.S. food products to local importers.

Market Reports

The OAA publishes reports on a wide variety of topics useful to U.S. exporters. The following reports provide an introduction to the Malaysian market and are available online.

Food Shows

FAS participates in selected shows in Southeast Asia. Food and Hotel Asia in Singapore, held biannually with the next show in April 2010.

Assistance for US Exporters

Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture provides a number of assistance programs to U.S. producers seeking to export their products overseas.
