On February 26, approximately 300 attendees, including Fulbright English Teaching Assistants (ETAs), Kennedy Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) participants, USG-exchange alumni, local government officials, educators, and students gathered to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Lincoln Corner Kedah. The event was co-officiated by the U.S. Embassy Kuala Lumpur’s Cultural Affairs Officer (CAO) Michael Quinlan and LC Kedah’s Chairman, Y.B. Dato’ Aminuddin Omar. LC Kedah partnered with more than twenty local organizations, including NGOs, to offer a 2-day “Open Day” program, featuring a series of activities for the public, as a part of the celebration. English language programs for students and teachers, led by ETAs and an English Language Fellow, a talk on entrepreneurship by a member of the American-Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), and a screening of Star Wars, were among the program’s highlights.
