How Climate Change Can Impact Food SecurityJoin us on Nov 29th at 9:00 AM for another session in our Environmental Speaker Series on how climate change can impact food security.  The Environmental Speaker Series is organized by WWF Malaysia and sponsored by U.S. Embassy Kuala Lumpur.

Food security is a basic necessity for all. However the food system is under immense pressure from population and income growth, as well as demand for animal-sourced protein. These pressures impact the four pillars of food security – availability, access, utilization, and stability. In addition, climate change – increasing temperatures and changes in rainfall patterns – is also affecting food security across the world.

This talk will feature Pete Pearson, Senior Director, Food Loss and Waste WWF-US. For almost a decade, he has been working on food waste prevention and food recovery, helping businesses understand the intersection of agriculture and wildlife conservation. Pete will be joined by Professor Dr. Saleem Mustafa, from the Faculty of Science and Natural Resources, University Malaysia Sabah. The session will be moderated by WWF’s very own Senior Manager for Marine Foodprint, Chitra Devi. We invite you to engage with these speakers in a engaging discussion hosted on the WWF Malaysia Facebook page.
