On December 13, EducationUSA paid a visit to St.Mary’s Agape Mission School. The purpose of EducationUSA’s visit was to enlighten refugee students about the world-class education opportunities that await them when they resettle in the U.S. EducationUSA gave a presentation to 35 refugee students between the ages of 10 to 18 years old.

Adviser Kavita Chandran and intern Noelle Boucher engaged the students with an interactive quiz on the U.S. They also shared information about the different options available to students in community colleges, universities, and vocational schools after completion of their high school diploma. The outreach event was a fruitful one for EducationUSA as it supported both the mission’s and EducationUSA’s goal in facilitating student mobility to the U.S. EducationUSA was also pleased it was able to use its resources to serve the refugee community in Malaysia.
