On February 24, EducationUSA Malaysia organized a U.S. University fair in Kuala Lumpur. 40 U.S. universities participated in the annual fair, which was a part of the larger EducationUSA Southeast Asia Fair series. Kuala Lumpur was the third stop in the region and the fair lasted from 2.30 to 6.00 p.m. at the Connexion Conference and Events Center located in Bangsar South. The public had the chance to have engaging, fruitful conversations with university representatives about the various academic programs on campus, student life, funding for international students and many other related topics. University representatives also gave individual presentations on key topics of interest such as studying at a community college, applying for scholarships and financial aid from U.S. universities, completing university applications, and choosing the best fit school. U.S. Consular Officer, Chin Han-Quinlan from the U.S. Embassy in Kuala Lumpur also spoke about the student visa application process to interested students and parents. With more than 1000 attendees, the fair was very well-received and supported the mission’s goal in facilitating international mobility to the U.S. and promoting the diversity of U.S. higher education.
