Learn, exchange, grow, and serve. The U.S. Department of State offers many programs for non-U.S. citizens wishing to come to the U.S. for cultural, educational, or professional exchange. These programs are augmented by local opportunities in countries around that world that allow non-U.S. citizens to explore U.S. culture and the English language.
More than 430 international student advising centers in more than 175 countries and territories that offer information about opportunities to study at accredited postsecondary institutions in the United States.
American English is a resource center for teaching and learning about American English language and culture.
Cultural and Professional Exchanges Programs
Exchanges that engage professionals in the government, non-profit, and private sectors; high school students; representatives from the cultural and sports communities; and disenfranchised and underserved audiences.
Brings emerging leaders and professionals to the United States on 13 different cultural exchange programs focused on education, research and skills development. The program allows participants to hone their skills, immerse themselves in American society and culture, connect with Americans, and share their culture with their American host communities.

English Language Programs & Resources
The U.S. Embassy Malaysia seeks to improve English Language learning and promote the effective use of English as a medium of global communication throughout Malaysia. Our activities also help to foster mutual understanding between the American and Malaysian people.
The Cultural Affairs Section of the Public Affairs Office of the U.S. Embassy works closely with the other elements of the U.S. Mission, as well as with a wide range of Malaysian public and private organizations to encourage broader understanding of the United States and its relationship with Malaysia through educational exchange.
The EducationUSA Advising Center in Malaysia is part of EducationUSA , the U.S. Department of State’s network of over 400 international student advising centers in more than 170 countries. EducationUSA Malaysia, hosted by the Malaysian-American Commission on Educational Exchange (MACEE), offers accurate, comprehensive, and current information about opportunities to study at accredited postsecondary institutions in the United States. EducationUSA also provides services to the U.S. higher education community to help institutional leaders meet their recruitment and campus internalization goals. EducationUSA Malaysia currently has advising centers in both KL and Penang.
The U.S. Embassy in Kuala Lumpur’s Embassy Speaker Program is an opportunity for organizations and institutions in Malaysia to engage directly with our diplomats through lectures, panel discussions, Q&A sessions, and a variety of other formats. Programs may be conducted in-person or virtually. Examples of eligible institutions include (but are not limited to): Schools, universities, NGOs, religious institutions, chambers of commerce, extracurricular clubs, universities, etc. To request the participation of a U.S. diplomat in your program please use the form below and we will be in touch with you soon.
