Chargé d’Affaires Bhalla visited U.S. Coast Guard Cutter (USCGC) Munro with officials from the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA), the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN), and government officials in Kuantan.
The Munro visit is part of U.S. cooperation with Malaysia and Southeast Asia to strengthen maritime security and maritime law enforcement.
“The visit by USCGC Munro is just one example of the strong partnership between the US and Malaysia on maritime security and maritime law enforcement. This partnership supports Malaysia’s efforts to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity as well as uphold international law,” said Chargé d’Affaires Bhalla.
During the visit, USCGC Munro and MMEA service members conducted subject matter expert exchanges on damage control procedures and law enforcement tactics.
