The festival on August 20th and 21st was a celebration to promote biodiversity and a deeper understanding of the natural heritage on Borneo island. The festival held at the world famous Sepilok rainforest in Sandakan gathered scientific experts and conservationists to share a wealth of information through their studies and research. The festival was officiated by Datuk Pang Yuk Ming, Assistant Minister at the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment Sabah. This year, they also screened movies from the International Elephant Film Festival and hosted musicians, artists and those in the creative arts who share a passion for the environment. About 3,000 people, mainly locals, students and tourists, came for a variety of activities, including talks, workshops, musical performances, and exhibitions throughout the two-day program co-funded by the Embassy.
