Acting DCM Kent Stiegler Emphasized U.S.- Malaysian Comprehensive Partnership at MISI Convocation

On May 28, Acting Deputy Chief of Mission (A/DCM) Kent Stiegler congratulated 21 Master’s degree graduates of the Malaysia Institute of Supply Chain Innovation (MISI) in Selangor for completing the rigorous program, which is a collaboration between the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Government of Malaysia.  A/DCM Stiegler said that this initiative boosts educational ties between the United States and Malaysia, and supports the comprehensive partnership President Obama and Prime Minister Najib launched in April.  He was pleased that MIT established its East Asia hub for its world-renowned supply chain management program in Malaysia, stating that, “supply chain management is the key in connecting Penang to Portland and Milwaukee to Melaka.”  He invited the graduates to use their knowledge to bring the world closer together.
